Book Description A waxy skinned, Italian-accented stranger approaches American businessman Charles Weston at Hong Kong International Airport. The stranger hands Weston a package and tells him to take it back to America; Charles refuses. The stranger aims a gun at him; Charles reconsiders. The stranger hands Charles the package and says: "Under no circumstances should you open this package. Deposit it in the trashcan outside exit three at LAX. You will never see me again." On the eighteen-hour flight home, Charles can't avoid it: he opens the package. What follows is an irony-laden adventure as an innocent man becomes the target of international assassins, petty criminals — and his own government. Will Charles make it through and expose the contents of the package before it's too late — or will he end up with a bullet in his head? Down to the Wire: in bookstores this fall. |
