Carl Loutan Carl Loutan lives in Lafayette, Indiana. Teaches cinema studies and western humanities at West Purdue. After writing three nonfiction books about the history of cinema and the influence of Renaissance artists on German expressionist filmmaking, Loutan turned to novel-writing (among other disciplines). His first novel, the bittersweet Memories of Shoes, won him a Glenboro Award for Fiction in 2005. His second novel, Wasteland, will arrive in stores in August of 2007.

Memories of Shoes Memories of Shoes by Carl Loutan
A man awakens with two weeks of his life missing and nothing to fill in the pieces but three pairs of shows. With unusual events surrounding him, his only choice is to solve the mystery of these three pairs of shoes and, hopefully, get his life back.
